Hi everyone!
Here we are everyone, being ‘goat like’ negotiating the energies of the new
year within a Mercury retrograde energy which is expanding our mind powers in a
whole new way. Problem solving is taking on a very new dimension called
‘feeling our way’ along the rocky ledges called life.
Problem solving with Mercury:
Negotiating the
heights!
Nothing like getting yourself out of a tight spot! That’s what Mercury
retrograde periods can do for us, unravel and review unsolved problems. Mercury
is a mind energy and loves puzzles and problems so we’re likely to get to the
bottom...of the cliff maybe...of those problems which have been hanging around
for a while.
The past week: Off the planet with our messenger from the
stars!
Mercury’s been travelling in Aquarius where he’s
been taking us out into the cosmos ‘where no man or woman has been before’. If
you’ve felt a bit ungrounded, off the planet then trust that in the next few
weeks Mercury will be bringing us back to earth as he moves into Capricorn on
9th January, just in time to greet the New Moon in Capricorn on 10th January.
The past few days Mercury challenging Mars:
Perhaps a touch of
tetchiness!
This energy was with us for a couple of days and may have brought up all
manner of irritation, frustration, anger, resentment, fighting energy. Depends
on your personal planetary chart.
Mercury, our mind energy, wants to get its way with a strong connection to
ego and identity. However, being in retrograde energies just at the change of
direction, he’s not at his strongest in terms of clarity.
Physical and mental challenges this past week:
Physically, this could well have been instrumental in respiratory
challenges especially as Mars rules the head and Mercury rules the respiratory
system. Mercury rules the nervous system so meeting with Mars would have added
to a feeling of ‘hyper’ mental activity as Mercury sought to keep his grip on
the control.

Time to let the ‘small’ I get into the back seat
and let that wise consciousness take over the driving.
Jupiter meets North Node of the Moon: Healing and
‘work’!
There could never be a better time for us to let that higher consciousness
take the wheel as Jupiter snuggles up to the North Node of the Moon at 23
degrees Virgo. This is our current evolutionary focus for the whole planet.
The expansion of good health, healing possibilities along with some powerful
resolution of ongoing problems in these areas.

Alignment!
Virgo rules everyday work in terms of finding the
work which aligns with your divinity, your essence, your authentic self. When
we are involved with ‘work’ which is aligned with our ‘calling’, there is no
hard work. It’s all joyful contribution which excites and stimulates the spirit
and awakens the heart to a whole new consciousness of living.

‘Having your cake and eating it too’: How
Capricorn!
Mercury retrograde: Time is fluid! No time!
We’ve got about 2 weeks of Mercury retrograde in Capricorn. Is Mercury
grounded or just ready to take flight in a whole new way. Mercury likes to
travel and a retrograde period is an inner journey in exploring and discovering
consciousness.
This is a perfect energy to harness time for ourselves in a whole new way.
We can always stretch or compact time but Mercury retrograde really opens us up
to the magical reality of this dimension.
Problem solving: Let the inner consciousness do the problem
solving! Letting go of the mind control is a good start!
Mercury’s in Capricorn so the areas of focus will be on physical and
financial security, fulfilment of hopes and dreams and attaining success in the
wider world, in your working life. Mercury’s setting us up for the New Moon in
Capricorn, clearing the mental cobwebs and taking us back to the drawing
board.
Body and Karma:
Limiting mindsets held in the cell memories can
now go
...if we let that happen!
Cutting the ties with red tape!
Capricorn is a sign of physicality and so the physical body and health may
come into the picture. Just remember that Capricorn is ruled by Saturn, Lord of
Karma so we’re more than likely releasing a lot of karmic mind ‘stuff’ such as
beliefs, values and attitudes. After all, Capricorn is the authority and that
means ‘rules’ stemming from government, social conditioning and values and
religion. Just be open to a mental revamp.
Cutting the ties with ‘red tape’!
Red tape has been the ruler of this
bureaucratically focussed planet for so long we’ve almost become used to it as
part of the scene we have to accept. In cutting the ties with our own inner
‘red tape’ we start the ball rolling for ourselves and the consciousness of
everyone. What red tape is keeping you limited and immobilized? Helping with the mental ‘letting go’ is Venus who is trawling through
Sagittarius seeking heart truth.
Physical
clearances: Just keep breathing! In and out!
Mercury rules the respiratory system and
travelling retrograde through Capricorn may bring up clearance through the
breath, lungs, ears, nose and throat. We’ve already experienced Mercury in
Capricorn from 10th December last year through to 2nd January so you may well
have experienced clearing through this time. Hayfever, colds, flu, bronchitis,
laryngitis are just some ways you could have experienced the clearance of old
karmic threads and cell cleansing.
Tuning heart and mind connection:
We hold grief and anger in our lungs and the need to work with the heart
and mind at this time is relevant as we release all the old painful emotional
energies. We’re getting a tune-up for sure.
The cat on a hot tin roof phenomenon:
Highly strung with nowhere to go!
Mercury also rules the nervous system so worth remembering with respect to
anxiety, nervous tension, stress, worry which could erupt in the body with such
things as skin problems, neuralgia.
Reminders of Mercury retrograde
Misinformation, misunderstandings, confusion mentally, memory loss
Crossed wires! Gaining inner clarity can throw up outer
confusion!
Sending and receiving:
We all know communication can get a little confused during Mercury
retrograde periods. That’s because our brain is not in normal operating mode.
We are working internally with our subconscious mind and may feel a little
unfocussed ‘off the air’ in conscious reality. Trying to take in information
from ‘outside’ ourselves whether it be reading, listening or observing seems a
little more difficult than usual.
We’re growing our inner understanding and gaining clarity in our thinking.
The manifestation of that clarity can come through at any time. However, we’re
really like to feel the growth we’ve made when Mercury moves out of retrograde
on 26th January.
Revisiting the past or ‘the past’ revisiting you:
Meeting up with
people, places, ideas or projects from the past is likely
Back to the future again:
Always an interesting aspect of Mercury retrograde is this returning to the
past or ‘the past’ returning to you. It’s good to be aware of what comes back,
visits you in a moment of relaxation, meditation, in sleep. Messages and
insights abound if we’re open to them.
People returning for reunion, repair, reconnection. It can also mean
people returning for release and closure.
9th January: Venus conjoins Saturn in Sagittarius at
3.11 pm AEDT 12 degrees Karmic clearing of the heart!

7th January: Moon, Venus and Saturn in the night sky.
You may have felt the emotions, memories arising from within as the Moon passed over Venus on 7th, sidling up to Saturn.
9th January: Venus and Saturn are meeting at 12 degrees Sagittarius
With Sagittarius' higher consciousness calling us on, we're being opened up to let go of a whole lot of karmic threads and memories which have tied our hearts in knots.
Past memories being released:
With the moon in the picture over the past
few days, we've been letting go of denser energies held by the moon's memory
banks which may have been weighing us down emotionally. I'm trusting that many
heavy hearted feelings will be released before Saturn and Venus meet on 9th in
which case we can feel the uplifted heart leading us authoritatively into the
New Moon in Capricorn on 10th!
10th January: New Moon in Capricorn at 12.30 pm AEDT
at 19 degrees 13 Capricorn
Old time/new time: Undergoing change!
Capricorn is tradition, ruled by Old Father Time, Saturn also known as Lord
of Karma. Whilst Capricorn is a cardinal sign which likes to get things moving,
Capricorn likes to keep within the guidelines and structures which have been
established and recognised by the authorities and social conventions of our
world.
Individual vs Society: Doing it ‘my way’!
A New Moon in Capricorn calls for a fresh start for the lunar month with a
focus on evolving consciousness with respect to traditions and the status quo,
systems and structures both on the personal and transpersonal levels.
Capricorn: The ‘old’ way is the best way!
Capricorn likes working with established and predictable structures. This
energy likes stability and security through certainty and following ‘logical’
accepted thinking and planning.
‘Is it?’ we say: We’re shifting consciousness!
We’re likely to be setting ourselves new frameworks and structures for our
lives. How do we express our unique selves within the demands of the system.
During this next month some of us will be deciding to take another step away
from the restrictive thinking of systems management.

looking to find our ‘voice’, to speak from our divine mind. It may feel a
little muddled still as we work through the Mercury retrograde period but we’ll
be fully engaged in getting our voice ‘heard’ and gaining the recognition for
being who we are.
New territories beckon: Choose your own adventure!
Jupiter
conjoins/meets North Node of Moon at the New Moon!
Maybe you feel you’ve already found your voice,
found your place, found your higher pathway forward. However, the energies at
this time are shifting us into new aspects of ourselves and undiscovered
territory thanks to Jupiter retrograde in Virgo.
Jupiter at 24 degrees Virgo joining forces with the North Node of
the Moon at 23 degrees Virgo: No missing the boat here!
At the New Moon, Jupiter planet of expansion is sitting with the North Node
of the Moon, the current evolutionary focus for the planet. We’re all heading in
the same direction accessing unique potential through that armchair travelling!
High hopes and ambitious possibilities: All I want is a little
respect!
R E S P E C T!
Capricorn calls us to seek and find respect and
a positive reputation in the world through our worldly success. It’s everything
we’re plugged into with our materialistic world. However, Capricorn offers us a
higher perspective, a higher consciousness which engages with the physical world
as a spiritual being. With Mercury retrograde on Capricorn we’re getting all
kinds of messages from within about our value and significance in the world. We
just have to listen.
Charisma: Let’s own it and exude it! Pepe le Pew said it all!
Then take a bow from yourself to yourself!
So we find the respect for ourselves first. We claim our value and worth
to ourselves and thence to the world.
so much of this new moon is about claiming our inner worth, our inner
respect. Venus and Saturn are bringing this home big time!
A Plutonic kind of New moon:
Pluto brings deep and meaningful to
our new moon experience!
Pluto is sitting just 4 degrees from the Sun and
Moon giving a very strong emotional impetus to the beginning of
our lunar month of Capricorn.
Pluto is the dark lord of transformation who takes us to the centre of our
being, our ‘heart of darkness’ so we reclaim the undiscovered treasures within.
If ever this was a good omen for finding that sense of true self, the authentic
self, the undiscovered self...this is it!
Hidden heart energies are emerging. coming to light, filled with what has
been unrecognised up to now. These are carrying the essence of inner respect
for ourselves, a deep loving inner recognition that comes without words.
Remember, we are now feeling our way forward, moving into the knowingness which
is beyond words. Deep acceptance is coming in with this New Moon. It’s all
love!
